Murickens developed "MG Solar Water Heater" with the aim of saving electricity and money on everyday hot water needs. It is a simple, reliable system that uses solar thermal energy to heat water directly, without depending on the grid. It is ideal for the Indian climate, especially Kerala's strong year-round sunlight. Our product is ISI marked and manufactured as per BIS specifications. MG Solar Water Heater is available in FPC (Flat Plate Collector) and ETC (Evacuated Tube Collector) types, from 100 LPD for a small household up to 500 LPD and above for hotels, hostels and industrial use.
There are two collector types to choose from depending on the site's water quality and roof space. FPC (Flat Plate Collector) systems use a flat, glazed metal absorber plate and perform well even in Kerala's hard, mineral-heavy water and cloudy monsoon spells, making them the preferred choice for most homes here. ETC (Evacuated Tube Collector) systems use glass vacuum tubes, heat water faster in cooler months and cost less upfront, but need periodic tube maintenance where water hardness is high.
Both types work on natural thermosiphon circulation — cold water sinks, heated water rises into the insulated storage tank on its own, with no pump and no electricity required for day-to-day operation. An optional electric back-up heating element can be fitted inside the tank for continuous hot water on heavily overcast days. The system includes the solar collector, an insulated storage tank, mounting stand and interconnecting piping. It is a fully natural, renewable-energy-based system with very low running cost and low maintenance.
